Students -we are still on for Moore tomorrow. It isn't supposed to start snowing until noon.
If by some strange chance we aren't going I will post here early in the a.m. and start a phone/text chain with the drivers.

IM GONNA POST A COMMENT!
ReplyDeleteMoore was totally cool. Klingberg's image on the main entrance to the gallery was my favorite. The concept of slowing down our fast paced-advertisment world is a concept that has been done before, but not in this way. I wish I could have seen it when the sun shines through the windows, I bet it looks beautiful.
Virgil Marti's room was my least favorite. I can appreciate it, but aesthetically I didn't enjoy it. I thought the fuzzy reflection was a component that should have been played up a little more. Maybe if the brown, fake-fur sofa wasn't there I would have enjoyed it more. I just thought the whole thing was confusing.

ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks for commenting. I did love the mandala piece too. My favorite piece in the show were the tire prints - because of the unused/garbage material tranformed to something beautiful through the print process. I do agree that the Virgil Marti room was the weakest...I feel like the mirrored walls were an accident and he tried to incorporate them into the piece so it didn't seem accidental. Plus, I kinda hate work that is so heavy it is supposed to make me think of my mortality.
